MusicX support

Connections, your collection, and a few useful answers.

Before you make changes

Keep a backup of your original music. If a source seems unavailable, check its connection before deleting a source, clearing app data, or reinstalling. Those actions can remove local information or downloaded files.

Where can I download MusicX?

MusicX is currently in development and testing. There are no public download links on this website yet. If you already have a test build, use the update and feedback channel supplied with your invitation.

Do I need a music subscription?

MusicX is a player for music files you supply, not a subscription streaming catalog. Cloud storage services you choose may have their own accounts, limits, and charges.

Google is connected. Why don't I see my music?

Account access and music-folder selection are separate steps. In Settings, open Sources, check Google Drive's connection, and confirm your selected music folder. A working internet connection and permission to read the folder are required. During development, Google access may be limited to approved test accounts. Read about Drive access.

Does connecting a sync point upload all my music?

No. A sync point stores MusicX state, such as playlists and playback position. Your music sources contain the audio files. Local device transfers are a separate feature.

Can Android use my iCloud music source?

No. iCloud integration is for Apple devices. Google Drive and supported SMB/NAS sources are the cross-platform options being developed for MusicX.

How do I revoke Google access?

Disconnect Google Drive in MusicX Settings, and review MusicX in Google Account connections to revoke its permissions. Disconnecting does not automatically delete every copy of data already stored in the service or on another device.

Are my diagnostic logs sent automatically?

No. MusicX keeps diagnostics on your device. If you choose to share a log for support, review it first: it can include paths, source names, song details, and device information.
